You can not doubt that architects in history have mastered the ability to transform space and matter into incredible works of engineering and art. Architecture and design go hand in hand with each other. It is impossible to sift one from the other. By the very act of drawing up blueprints or dimensions, the architect is creating designs that will hopefully stand the test of time and man to remain fixed in history.
There is more to architecture than just the outside appearance of a building. Interior design architecture is a huge part of why people find some buildings so beautiful. Granted, the outside is the part that initially grabs the attention, but the interior is what makes the building memorable and functional. Throughout history there have been incredible works of art created out of stone, wood and metal. The outer portion is detailed and intricate. Move inside and you will see that the intricacies are not limited to exterior walls.
A good architect knows that architecture and design must go together. The clean lines of a modern building. The delicate arches and stone apertures of medieval architecture. Even the tall columns of Ancient buildings all have elements that transfer the beauty and form of the exterior into the designs found within the walls. Both work in harmony together to create a building that stands apart from the rest.
It is more than function. A builder can build an edifice that is functional. It provides space, shelter and protects. But that is not always enough. Yes, one element of man's basic needs is met but the building can be aesthetically pleasing as well as functional. A building can be more than just four walls and a roof. It should have great architectural style. As a sentient being capable of appreciating great works, you should demand more in your surroundings. Beauty is more than skin, or wall, deep.
Stop falling for the old "cookie cutter" philosophy! You do not have to have a home with the only difference being the number on the mailbox. This is not a Stepford community and you are not a robot. Embrace different design philosophies and have a home that is unique and different. Have something that is an extension of a style that screams out your personality. Architecture and design comes from your ideas and the work of an architect who has a willingness to please you.

Today's Tip On Architecture
The architect is usually expected to have a minimum of a four year degree and most architects go on to receive their Master's degree with extensive study in his or her selected field. After graduation, a period of internship is a great idea. It is one thing to study how to do something and an entirely different matter to put the new found knowledge into practice. Practical experience under a knowledgeable hand in this field is invaluable. The internship is a great opportunity to explore different techniques as well.
